Some things to Know

 

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We can take card payments in person with a mobile card reader, we will take cash if that is the only option. We can request payment using PayPal, and  PayPal can be used when invoiced to pay online with a card or PayPal funds. We will also accept direct bank payment, we supply payment details on all invoices. We also can setup a Direct Debit monthly payment for certain services, or for outstanding invoice amounts.

DO YOU DO WORK HERE AT MY HOME OR DO YOU HAVE A SHOP?

We generally work at your home, in person, sometimes by remote access, if working on a computer. If a task is going to take a long time and I think it would be better and cheaper for us to take equipment away to work on it further, we would discuss that option with you.
No, we don't have a shop or premises that clients would normally come to. we do have some office space on a business client's premises, but that is not for receiving client visits.

I'M NOT SURE HOW I FEEL ABOUT INVITING A STRANGER INTO MY HOME.

We understand, and we try and work with people by recommendation, if possible. But for clients who don't know us we have 2 things to help with concerns:

  • We have paid to have a DBS criminal background check on anyone you invite into your home - with associated certificate showing lack of convictions, what used to be a CRB check.

  • We can provide a reference from our accountants, and long-standing client (10 years), to vouch for our character and integrity

Also, this is a small area, I'm sure if we tried we might find someone in common that we would both know.

NEW OR OLD MOBILE - NEED A LESSON?

What's the point in having something that you can't use because you don't know how?
Or
You're not getting your monies worth out of it, as you only use the basics and could be doing so much more...
Messaging - Video messaging - Sat-Nav - Playing music - watching TV & Movies - Managing your Bank - Sending money to someone - Authenticating accounts - the list goes on

HOW WOULD THE TRAINING OR LESSONS WORK?

Couple of options here:
1 You tell us what it is you want to learn, we estimate how long that is going to take, tell you how much that costs and you either agree or we work out how to reduce the cost - Some recommended online learning, some YouTube videos that might help - so you could do the learning yourself - then we could just help where needed
2 You decide there is a lot to learn, it's going to take time and you are fine with that - you can either buy a bulk lot of time or pay for a monthly plan and the learning is done over weeks or months at a pace to suite you
3 You see one of the Task options that are mentioned in the Pricing Tab - we do that, you learn a new skill, happy client

I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO USE MY TECH?

If you had a car, and all you did was sit in it, turn the wheel and flash the lights, without turning it on or driving it, people might think you were mad? Especially after spending all that money!
But that is what people are doing with their tech all the time.
Let us help you get in and drive that tech.
Get the most out of that expensive phone, or tablet.
Use your tech like it was supposed to be used, and get the best value from all that money.
People say we only use 10% or 20% of our brains, most people probably only use 5%-10% of their Tech's capabilities.
Now that is what I call Mad!

HOW WOULD THIS WORK?

1 You tell us what you would like to learn, or, ask our advice on what you could get out of your particular Tech - we estimate how much time or money that might cost - then we discuss when it could be done.
2 You see a task with a cost mentioned on our Pricing pages, we agree when and how that can be done
3 There is a lot you want or need to learn about - as you are a novice - I would suggest bulk time buying or monthly time buying to reduce costs, and lots of training is done best over time, as we only learn at a certain rate and little and often is better
4 Combine support work on your devices with learning time. Depending upon the support task, they can take time to complete, with lots of waiting around for things to install or download, or copy etc. Combining support, with small learning tasks or time, could reduce costs, and make better use of your, and our, time.

FAQS - SETUP YOURSELF...

 

LEARNING HOW TO DIY YOUR TECH

Let us explain:
1  We can come and do tech support in your home, and that is it, job done. You need it done again or something different, we come again, or remote in.
2  We can come and teach you how to use your Tech, mobile, computer, and other smart devices
or
We can come and do support task, but while doing them teach you how you could do them for yourself
or
You want to know how to do something, ask if we can help, we tell you if we can, then we discuss how long and how much that might be.
This could be a one off task or multiple tasks over a period of time. We can discuss that best way to keep costs down while doing the work and learning.

WOULD WE HAVE TO DO WORK ON MY DEVICES?

Simple answer is, sometimes, and others we might be able to supply a suitable stand in for demonstration purposes.
We have some old computers or devices that might work as stand in's but if you are wanting to learn how to DIY your own stuff, then we would be working predominantly on your own Tech and associated peripheral devices.
Learning by doing really fixes thing into the brain better than just being told how to do something.

HOW TO USE YOUR APPS AND ACCOUNTS

An extension of the How To Use....
With a specific focus on the Apps and Online accounts rather than any particular devices.
We can help get you all set-up, all secure, and installed on the devices of your choice.
We then can help you to use the apps and online accounts.
How to stay safe and what to look out for.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

You make a list of all the apps and accounts, or the actual things you would like to be doing, then:
We discuss with you, how quickly you want to be up and running, when it can be done, and how much it is likely to cost.
This depends upon are you already set-up with an account or app, but you just need help using it, or is it everything.
So you need to think, is it about communication, banking, social media, sport, streaming, etc, etc.
Then we can make a plan and get you doing what you want to do!

FAQS - TUTORIALS

 

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

You want to know about a particular technical subject, you ask if we provide a tutorial on it, we say Yes or No. The list above is only as a guide, we can tailor a course to your needs. If we say yes then we discus and find out what level you are at, and then if we can help you attain a high level. I would then discuss how long you wanted to spend learning, and we would see if we can plan a course to suite your needs.

IS THIS DONE IN MY HOME OR ONLINE?

It might be one or the other or a mixture. Initially most courses would at least start in your home with you, one to one. Then depending upon what the course was covering, some of the course might be by remote, sharing a computer screen, Skyping, or some kind of online Webinar. But it could entirely be in your home one on one, or one to a few.

ARE ALL OR SOME OF YOUR TUTORIALS AVAILABLE ONLINE?

At the present the online webinar content is in development and will take some time to produce, but we will update this website and our Blog (Coming soon), as well as Twitter and Facebook when we have courses available for access. These would be at a reduced cost with respect to any courses personally given at your home.

DO YOU PROVIDE DEVICES OR OTHER MATERIAL FOR LEARNING?

We don't, other than those we might already have, that could be used for demo purposes. If you are learning how to do something or learning an application or software app, the expectation is that you would already have what you want to learn on or about, or that we might help you obtain it if needed.
